It is the fourth highest mountain in the Cordillera Blanca Chopicalqui is located between the Contrahierbas and Huascarán mountains. It has one of the most spectacular peaks and peaks of the entire Cordillera Blanca. Chopicalqui is a moderately difficult peak to climb, which requires a high altitude camp set at approximately 5,400m / 18,375m.
Departure at 6:00am from Huaraz by car in the direction of the ravine and the Llanganùco lake for approximately 2 and a half hours, up to the curve of the Chopicalqui 3900masl, it is at this point where the hike begins toward the moraine camp 4800masl that lasts five hours, on the journey you can see Huandoys, Pisco, Chacraraju, the Chopicalqui and the Huascarán.

Departure from Camp I after a small meal, between 12:00am and 1:00am depending on weather conditions, all the progress will be made on the glacier, we will arrive at the southwest ridge which runs along almost the entire route, there are many sections that are very steep but not vertical for about four hundred meters before reaching the summit, where we will find wall of about 70 meters where we must climb and at the top of the wall the final stretch toward the summit is on foot. From the summit you can see the Puntaguja, Huandoys, Caraz, Pisco, Chacraraju, the Alpamayo, Taulliraju, Píramide, Contrahierbas, Copa, Hualcan, Huatzan, Huascarán, among other mountains. After you start the descent toward camp I where we will make a small pause to break camp before we start the descent toward the moraine camp where we will spend the night.
Departure from the moraine camp at 8:30am after having broken camp and eating breakfast we head in the direction of the Chopicalqui curve where our transport awaits us to take us back to Huaraz.
The most beautiful mountain in the world, and there are plenty of reasons for such a deserved distinction.
